Richmond Indigenous Peoples’ Day Celebration

October 9, 2023 @ 4:00 pm - 6:30 pm

Join us for drumming, dancing, and presentations from tribal leaders, elected officials, and community leaders. Learn about the history and culture of the Mattaponi Indian Tribe, Chief Powhatan, Tsenacommacah, Werowocomoco, and other recognized Indian Tribes of Virginia in the Tsenacommacah Tent. Attendees can enjoy complimentary food and drink (while supplies last) from several local restaurants. Hosted by the Mattaponi Indian Tribe, the Greater Fulton community, and St. John’s Episcopal Church. Free admission.  Bring a lawn chair or blanket. Street parking is available on Williamsburg Road, Montebello Circle, and Union Street as well as on Hatcher and Fulton Streets at the bottom of Powhatan Hill.  Donations accepted to cover the costs of food and event.  For more information, contact Rick Tatnall, The Pocahontas Project (Rick@pocahontasproject.org, (804) 325-3674).
