This ministry addresses communities outside of the metropolitan Richmond area and is global in scope.
Global Missions
Beginning in 2007, through annual trips St. Paul’s has developed a long-term partnership with the village of Mwitikira and the Diocese of Central Tanganyika in Tanzania, identifying and responding to needs identified by villagers. These include the village water supply, an irrigation project to improve food security, education and health care.
Phoebe’s Fund
Phoebe’s Fund is a newly created initiative at St Paul’s, part of Community Engagement’s Beyond Richmond ministry focus area. Named after Phoebe, one of the first woman deacons in the early Church, this ministry engages in microlending to serve others in need. Microfinance helps borrowers, often underserved women or persons of color, seeking fair, equitable access to capital to create and sustain livelihoods.
